The retention basin is one of the many along the Bernese Au. Overall, however, one of the most beautiful. With small miniatures in the water, a boat dock for remote-controlled boats, many fishing spots and a great island in the middle where the birds feel comfortable. For many residents, for example the Busbrookhöhe is a wonderful local recreation area. On the playground of the Erich Kästner School, you can play basketball or football on the giant tire swings, and when the beach volleyball field is set up, you can have fun there too.

Yürüyüş

The Berner Au rises west of Volksdorf, then flows as a small stream through Berne and Farmsen until it flows into the Wandse after around 8.5 kilometers near Tonndorf.

The stream has been partially renatured, there are picturesque natural scenes. The route is signposted with the yellow arrow symbols of the Wanderverband Norddeutschland e.V.
A hiking map is available from the Wandsbek district office, it points to many green excursion destinations for garden and nature fans.
