The Duchy of Berg, the County of Sayn and the Electorate of Cologne used to meet at the Dreiherrenstein. Today the federal states of North Rhine-Westphalia meet with the Rhein-Sieg district and Rhineland-Palatinate with the districts of Altenkirchen and Neuwied. At this point, the town of Hennef in the northwest, the municipality of Eitorf in the northeast, the parish of Kircheib in the southeast and the parish of Buchholz in the southwest border each other.
