Historical crossing between the two historical defence lines, the Eppinger Lines (1695-97) and the Landgraben (1489-92), which are historically almost 200 years apart. The exemplary explanations at this point make the remains that are still visible today really tangible.

At the edge of the path there is an information board about the Eppinger Line with lots of text for the interested hiker. The Eppinger Line ran right here and served as a defensive structure.

The land ditch was created in 1489/92 in order to better enforce Württemberg's forestry and hunting rights. The other, newer ditch is part of the Eppinger Lines, which were built in 1696/97 to protect against French expansionist desires under Louis XIV.
The really well-made information board with lots of illustrations explains this to you on site.
