Before the dam was built, the water level was much lower; the village of Golubinje, a short distance upstream, was in the valley on the bank of the river. After the dam was built, it was flooded and rebuilt by the inhabitants higher up on the slope.

The southern entrance to the Iron Gate, which consists of two narrow passages with a picturesque bay in between. Unfortunately, there is none of the numerous resting places at this point, so be careful when stopping and taking photos.
