Mount Hollywood is not the tallest peak within Griffith Park, but it offers spectacular panoramic views over Los Angeles and the surrounding mountains. The Hogback Trail leading up to the summit is a popular fitness trail for trail running and hiking.

Mount Hollywood summit is a great overlook for Griffith Park and the LA basin, but it's important to note that it is not the location of the Hollywood Sign, I stopped counting how many tourists asked me. The famous sign is on Mt Lee, but it's visible in the distance from the summit and along most of the trails. The easiest way to the summit is via the gentle 3 Mile Trail from Mount Hollywood Drive. A nice descent to close a roughly 3.5 mile loop continues down to Griffith Observatory.
