A great day trip destination whatever the weather! At the entrance to Berchtesgaden is the Haus der Berge, the information and education center of the Berchtesgaden National Park. In the permanent exhibition "Vertical Wilderness," visitors can experience nature in Germany's only Alpine national park, from the bottom of Lake Königssee to the summit of the Watzmann. The environmental education center and the outdoor area of the Haus der Berge complement the permanent exhibition! Weather permitting, the views of the Watzmann, Hochkalter, and Jenner are fantastic.
