De Herder Windmill is a beautifully reconstructed flour mill, an iconic landmark situated in Medemblik, North Holland, Netherlands. This historic octagonal, thatched stellingmolen stands proudly at approximately 1 meter above sea level, embodying centuries of Dutch milling heritage. In 1985, the “Stichting de Medemblikker Meelmolen” was founded and the octagon of the 300-year-old Zaanse oil mill De Herder was purchased. This mill stood from 1695 to 1903 between Jisp and Wormer and then more than 80 years in Willeskop.
From 1986, enthusiastic volunteers and professional millwrights started dismantling the mill in Willeskop and rebuilding it in Medemblik.
