Padrón is a place of pilgrimage closely linked to Santiago. This is where the apostle is said to have delivered his first sermon.

The Pedrón is a sacrificial stone that was used in ancient times and that later served as the altar of this church. It is said that the ship that transported Santiago's body was moored to this stone. In the church of Santiago (Igrexa de Santiago) in Padrón, the murals refer to the historical event.
