The four-valleys cycle tour starts in Pommelsbrunn, forty minutes by train from Nuremberg. On a very beautiful bike path you follow the course of the Högenbach towards Hartmannshof. You drive on an old trade route that connected Nuremberg with Prague and discover here and there small mills. In the "primeval station" in Hartmannshof you can admire the oldest evidence of human life in today's Bavaria. The people lived in the Hunaser Cave near Hartmannshof. Then it goes into the Lehental to Oed. There is the Oedmühle, which was first mentioned 650 years ago. She was lovingly restored and even got the Bavarian Historical Preservation Medal. It follows a long climb over Lehendorf to Neutras. The area is very popular with rock climbers. Afterwards, you will drive on small, winding roads into the beautiful Hirschbachtal. In Eschenbach, where the Hirschbach flows into the Pegnitz, lies the castle Eschenbach. The former moated castle is mostly still in original condition. You drive along the meanders of the Pegnitz to Hohenstadt and then soon return to Högenbachtal at your starting point, the train station in Pommelsbrunn. A few steps from the station, there is a nice rest area with a drinking water well and a well-kept Kneipp facility.
