This circular hike takes you on narrow paths to the most beautiful viewpoints over Bernkastel-Kues, such as the St. Anna chapel, Mount Olympus and of course the impressive Landshut Castle. It starts in the Bernkastel district at the tourist information office. From here you hike south out of the place, it goes continuously uphill. First you go through picturesque vineyards, then you dive into the peaceful forest. Here you will pass the St. Anna Chapel, from which you can enjoy a beautiful view down into the Moselle valley. On winding forest paths you hike further uphill to Wilhelmshöhe. From here you also have a wonderful view of the Moselle and places like Andel and Kues. Now only a few meters separate you to the highest point of the tour, Mount Olympus at 415 meters. After you have enjoyed the all-round view of the mountain, it goes downhill quite quickly. Back in the vineyards, fascinating views of the Moselle await you and before you hike back to the starting point in Bernkastel-Kues, you can make a detour to Landshut Castle, where you can stop off comfortably.
A nice hiking tour, with a great view of the Moselle, unfortunately too much mountain bike traffic on very narrow paths, we were traveling with a small child, I found it very dangerous.
Thanks for the hint. Until recently, a small section of the hike also included an MTB route. We have now rerouted these. Therefore there should be no more problems from now on.
