On this stage you are now hiking across the language border into Italian-speaking Italy. The transition leads over the Fürkelescharte, under which lies the glacier of the same name, which the route also crosses. The rock in the area of the col is often loose, so caution is advised.

  • Hello Mareike, how do you rate the glacier? Is it relatively safe to climb alone and without a rope team?

    Best regards,

    Luke

  • Hello @Lukas. Unfortunately, I can't assess that for you. I can tell you that there are people who go without a rope team. I would ask the Marteller Hütte beforehand what the current conditions are like. Another possibility would be to try to join another rope team at the hut.
