Between the Tegernsee and the Schliersee are magnificent peaks, idyllic pastures and rustic huts. Not without reason is this region one of the most popular hiking areas of the Bavarian Prealps. Always a lake in view, you walk in three days from the place Schliersee to the eastern shore of Lake Tegernsee. The first night you spend on the beautiful Upper Firstalm, before it continues on the second day over peaks and pastures to the Wallberghaus. On the last stage, which impresses with fantastic views, we lead you down to the city of Tegernsee. The station Schliersee is approached directly from Munich by the regional train (bahn.de). The journey takes less than an hour. From the train station you first wander along the tranquil lakeside and then soon left the place behind. Our route leads you through quiet mountain forests and over green meadows up to the castle ruin Hohenwaldeck. The castle was heavily damaged by a rock fall in 1480 and has not been rebuilt since then. Over the years, the remains of the walls have grown mystically into the forest. The view from the ruins on the Schliersee is unique. At the southern end of Lake Schliersee you cross the small village of Neuhaus. From here you follow the Bockerlbahnweg up to the worth seeing Josefsthaler waterfalls. Romantic ripples and rushes the water of Hachelbach in several places over rocks. At the beautiful Spitzingalm at Spitzingsee you turn right and after a short time you arrive at your today's stage destination: The Obere Firstalm is a mountain hut like from a cheesy homeland movie. The food is delicious and the view just lovely.
