On the way back from Kamp to Anklam you first take a short detour to the former railway line, from where you have a great view of the remarkable Karniner Bridge. Today, only the hub of the former connection from the mainland to the island of Usedom is preserved. You drive from the Kamp through the Anklamer peat bog to a pretty, small lake and make a short detour to Anklamer ferry. The tiny village is located on a peninsula between the Szczecin Lagoon and the Peenestrom.Afterwards you cycle through the quiet meadows to Anklam. Just outside the station is the Otto Lilienthal Museum. The aviation pioneer was born in Anklam in 1848 and his hometown dedicates a proud museum to him with many exhibits of his aircraft constructions. At the train station of Anklam your tour ends. From here you can reach Stralsund in 50 minutes by train. A detour to the pretty center of Anklam is definitely worth it. In addition to cafés and restaurants, large brick buildings in the center await you as a witness to the prosperous past as a Hanseatic city.
