The Ruhr area a bit like it used to be. In a detour I came across the Wolfsbahn route: A very nice piece of (probably) former industrial railway route between the former Thyssen site and the Emscher with lots of greenery to the right and left.

There are some sculptures on the Wolfsbahn. In Marxloh, you will pass the bridal fashion shops.

Nice view of Thyssen and at the end not far from the Alsumer Steig with a great view.

An initially somewhat unusual route via the busy Friedrich-Ebert-Str./Kaiser-Wilhelm-Str. with pure industry and then cleverly switched to the green Wolfsbahn route.

    The section had something.

    Very nice.

A tour with contrasts that couldn't be more stark.

The extraordinary route results when you drive "Frei Schnauze" first from the train station to Beek and then on to Schermbeck - which in my case is also a journey into the past (especially the part in Ruhrort), because I was in Homberg in a Born into a barge family and spent the first ten years of my life here.

I have lived in Duisburg since I was born and have witnessed the changes, especially in the entire north of Duisburg, over the decades. A lot has changed in that time.

If you haven't been here for a long time, you must have been amazed.😁

Incidentally, I can imagine a childhood in a family of bargemen as very exciting.
