The first stage of the Kraut-und-Rüben-Radweg begins in Bockenheim at the Haus der Deutschen Weinstraße. The starting point is only a few meters away from the station Bockenheim-Kindenheim, so you can comfortably travel by regional train. After you have rolled out of Bockenheim, you cycle to Grünstadt at the foot of picturesque vineyards. From here, the cycle path leads you past fields of cabbage and turnips and finally back into a sea of grapevines. Through the vineyards it goes up and down easily to Friensheim. Here you have managed almost half of the first leg and can take a well-deserved break. In the medieval winegrowing town you will find numerous wine taverns, restaurants and cafés for a leisurely stop.Behind Friensheim wide fields, lush green meadows, picturesque vineyards along the way and charming little villages await you alternately. So the bike path leads you on largely flat route to Haßloch, the stage destination. Here you have a good selection of accommodation and refreshments as well as connection to the train traffic.
