July 3, 2019
Fresh sea air around the nose, fine sand under your feet and to top it all off with a fish roll - nothing more is needed for a perfect day on the Baltic Sea. On this 13 kilometer hike, you can enjoy all that and even more. Start of the tour is at the train station in Timmendorf-Strand.The beach is only later, in advance you roam the nature reserve Aalbeek lowland. The area forms a counterpoint to the bustling beach promenade. Here you can enjoy the lush green nature and may also discover a few animals. From the Hermann Löns tower you have the perfect overview of the swamp and forest area. You can already smell the sea air? Not far, then you see the blue waters of the Baltic Sea. In Niendorf you reach the sea and can make a stop at the fish smokehouse Rühmlings. Strengthened, it continues along the coast. At the end of the village begins the four kilometers long Brodtener cliff. You can explore these in two different ways: either you walk along the top along the edge or you choose the Strandweg directly at the surf. You can also take turns, the (only) staircase is located near the youth house Seeblick, about one kilometer from the Baltic Sea resort Niendorf. The path continues along the beach until the stretch of sand widens and you reach the pier of Travemünde. Here you can relax in a café on the promenade or in a beach chair before hopping back on the train.Arrival and departure: Both Timmendorfer beach and Travemünde you reach quite relaxed from Lübeck with the trains of the DB Regio Schleswig-Holstein.
