Romantic ruined castles and beautifully renovated castles. Towns with half-timbered facades like from a picture book. And in between a lot of forest, but also meadows and fields, which are small parts over the undulating land - welcome to the Haßberge Nature Park in the extreme northwest of the VGN area. This 60-kilometer hike takes you from Ebern an der Baunach to Zeil am Main in three days. The path goes up and down through a sparsely populated, agricultural Mittelgebirgsregion with its own character. North of Ebern are extensive, rugged rocky landscapes to find how they were used in the Middle Ages for the construction of castles. Again and again you come to impressive vantage points that invite you to take a breather. On the most spectacular view, you can look forward to the rest area at the ruin Raueneck. In addition to some condition, it is advisable to bring sufficient provisions, because between Ebern and Hofheim is only Jesserndorf as a food and accommodation station. That means packing food and drink for the first two days of hiking. You can plan the stages like this:Day 1: Ebern - Jesserndorf (14 kilometers)Day 2: Jesserndorf - Hofheim (21.2 kilometers)Day 3: Hofheim - Zeil (27 kilometers)Return from Zeil to Ebern: Take the R15 to Bamberg and change there to the R26 to Ebern. After less than an hour you are back at the starting point of the tour.
