The first stage takes you up to the glacier world of the Swiss four-thousanders. From the historic town of Brig, with the historic Stockalper Castle, take the train to Turtmann. From here starts the first stage with the glacier hike, which starts at the Turtmannhütte. From the Turtmannhütte, which you can reach by bus from Oberems, the mountain guide will take you up to the glacier. The Brunegg glacier can be reached via Gässi in about 40 minutes on a well-marked trail in the direction of Tracuithütte. From Gletscherrand you can plan various routes over the Brunegg glacier and the neighboring Turtmann Glacier. Also, a visit to the Adlersee, where you can marvel at beautiful glacier cuts, is quite worthwhile. Then you either return to the Turtmannhütte via a descent with a zip line or you take the same route back. You feel like a spectacular view summit? Then a guided tour up to the Barrhorn is just the thing for you. At 3,610 meters, the Barrhorn is the highest mountain in Switzerland, which you can climb without high-altitude tour equipment. Here you can find all information about the guided hike: randonnee.ch/de/Wanderungen/Wanderung-suchen/#r-4981504-Barrhorn-WanderungThe Via Stockalper is a three-day long-distance hiking trail, which brings you closer to the history of the canton Valais on old mule track paths. From Brig you walk on beautiful paths over the Simplon Pass and enjoy beautiful views. You can discover your personal offer for Via Stockalper here: brig-simplon.ch/wandern/viastockalper.php.
