A trip to the top of Saint-Mathieu, the northernmost limit of the Bay of Brest. Here, there is a lighthouse built on the site of a 10th / 11th century abbey, accompanied by a national monument to lost seafarers who stayed at sea during the First World War. An impressive place in every respect, for which one should take time, e.g. as a stopover on a hike on the coastal path Sentier Côtier No.34. You will find my detailed descriptions and in-depth research on this location in the highlights.
