Explore the secret of a unique and diverse landscape on this nearly five-kilometer circular tour. Silent moors, gentle hills and rugged mountain peaks characterize the landscape around Lake Zollner. The geotrail will take you past so-called stones, explain the origin of the moors, give you an insight into the last ice age 20,000 years ago and lead you to plant and animal fossils.Starting point for the Geotrail is the Zollnersee hut. Just follow the signs and you will reach the Zollnersee after one kilometer. Its shores are lined with alpine bushes, brushstrokes and swamp meadows. In summer, the water temperature can rise to 20 degrees, in winter, an ice cover of one meter is not uncommon.Continue on narrow trails through the beautiful landscape of the Carnic Alps. You wander over the flat plateau and have a great view of the surrounding peaks. On the Bishop Alm path you walk back to your starting point. Finally, you can stop in the Zollnersee hut.
