On around five and a half kilometers, the Rheinufer-Rundweg leads back from the old Rhine bridge to the new hydroelectric power plant and on the other side of the Rhine. The leisurely hike gives you insights into the history of the two cities on the banks of the Rhine and guides you through the diverse nature along the river. In order to better understand the history of the approximately 900-year-old city of Rheinfelden on the Swiss side and the much younger Rheinfelden on the German side, signs have been set up along the circular route. In addition to fascinating information on the historical background of the two cities, you will also learn all sorts of information about the flora and fauna on the banks of the Rhine as well as about various buildings and life on the border between Switzerland and Germany. On the way you also have the opportunity to stroll through the old town of Rheinfelden in Switzerland and stop off along the way.
