The 105-kilometer-long Aargauer Weg takes you from Frick to Muri (AG). Here you can walk on quiet riverside paths, enjoy wonderful views over the Jura hills, admire old castles and magnificent monasteries and stroll through medieval old towns. The varied long-distance hike you can go well in six stages, with Wittnau, Aarau, Brugg, Mellingen and Bremgarten (AG) offer as milestones.Let's start the hike in Frick. From the picturesque Fricktal valley, you will cycle over the challenging hilly landscapes of the Aargauer Jura Park, from which you can enjoy wonderful panoramic views. Through lush meadows and quiet forests of the Jura, the path leads you to Aarau's old town with its charming, unique roof gables. Continue through the meadows along the Aare. On the way to the moated castle, the confluence of the Aare, Reuss and Limmat, you will pass impressive Habsburg fortifications such as Wildegg Castle, Habsburg Castle or Königsfelden Monastery. On the way from Baden to the historic Mellinger old town and upriver on the Reuss you enjoy beautiful nature with romantic forests, lush fields and beautiful meadows. In the small Habsburg city of Bremgarten, the narrow streets of the old town, which is surrounded on three sides by the Reuss, invite you to a leisurely stroll. Afterwards you will continue hiking through lush meadows and marshes that characterize the landscape around the Flachsee. Through wide fields and past charming farmhouses, we head towards Muri, the destination of the hike. You can see the place from afar on the impressive Benedictine monastery, which rises from the landscape.
