In Nossen, the Freiberger Mulde changes its direction and flows a short distance to the west. Shortly after the bend you will pass the Altzella Monastery. Meanwhile, the former abbey is an exciting parkland with old buildings and ruins.Roßwein lies in the middle of the stage and in the heart of Saxony. The place is suitable for a long lunch break and an exploration tour. You will find here the museum of local history with the well-known Renaissance portal, the reconstructed old town bath and one of the most beautiful post-milestones in the area. These used to serve as distances of the post routes. Now you follow the Freiberger Mulde alternately on small streets and natural trails to the center of the medieval city Döbeln. There is much to discover here, such as the horse tram including the museum or the Mirakelmann, a movable sculpture made of lime wood. Very nice are also the restored buildings in the old town, which were destroyed by the Thirty Years' War and many city fires again and again.
