Challenging, but absolutely rewarding is this eleven-kilometer summit hike. Start is at Spullersee. At the beginning you walk a short distance along the water until the hiking trail to the Gehrengrat branches off to the right. You walk steadily uphill, past a refuge and over green mountain pastures.Steep serpentines wind their way up the last stretch until you reach the Gehrengrat (2,439 meters) proudly at an altitude of 660 meters. Once at the top, you can take a short breath and let the magnificent landscape work on you.Steep serpentines meander up the last stretch until you can be proud of 660 vertical meters and stand on the Gehrengrat (1439 meters). Breathe through and let the grandiose landscape work on you.On the other side of the ridge, serpentines lead you through rugged terrain down to the Stone Sea, a beautiful and special landscape formed by nature. Relaxed is the way to the Freiburg hut from here. The hut is located on the idyllic Formarinsee. Take a deserved break and walk the last short distance to the bus stop around the lake. Experienced and vertigo-free hikers can also take the climb above the eastern shore. To Spullersee you get out without stress with the hiking bus from Lech. This brings you back to the place at the end of the day.
