This culture tour starts in Ottensoos, not far from Lauf an der Pegnitz. You cycle on flat paths to Henfenfeld, which is over 900 years old. The local castle was the seat of the Pfinzing patrician family from Nuremberg for 300 years. Paul Pfinzing is the creator of the “Pfinzing Atlas”, a detailed survey map of parts of the Franconian Alb that is still important for research today. You then continue over the Pegnitzwiesen to Hersbruck, where cozy restaurants invite you to linger. You can enjoy the medieval city center with three city gates, towers and remains of the former city wall as well as the beautiful churches and museums of the city on a leisurely stroll after your meal. Do you still need some provisions for on the way? Then ask at the butcher's shop Hartmann about the Bauernstadtwurst - it's a specialty in the city.Freshly strengthened, you continue on your bike across picturesque meadows, through dense forest and over the Reschenberg to the former monastery village of Engelthal. The founding of the former women's monastery dates back to 1243. Remnants of the monastery complex can still be found here and there. However, not much remains of its former size and importance. From here the tour continues via Offenhausen at the foot of the Keilberg. In a leisurely up and down with wonderful views it goes via Egensbach to Entenberg and Gersdorf on to Weigenhofen at the foot of the Moritzberg. Numerous very old courtyards have been preserved here and are beautiful to look at. Via Schönberg, which was first mentioned in 1061, with its neo-Gothic church you finally reach the starting point in Ottensoos.
