This round tour begins in Lauf an der Pegnitz directly at the train station. At the beginning you follow the Heroldsberger Mühlenweg and cycle slightly upwards into the forest to Schwaig. In Schwaig, the castle with the public park is particularly worth seeing. On wonderful forest paths you then cycle through the Lorenzer Reichswald to Fischbach, a Nuremberg district that is located in the middle of the Nürnberger Land district. In Fischbach there are still three mansions that date from the 14th century. At the end of the village, the path leads you past the Hutberg, over the Büchleinsberg and on idyllic forest paths to Ungelstetten. This historical Zeidlerort is mentioned as early as 800 BC as the royal court "Ungold's site". There are some very beautiful old farmhouses here to this day. Following the river Röthenbach you drive via Fuchsmühle to Birkensee to Renzenhof, where you can see a tower-shaped castle from 1416.The next stop is Röthenbach an der Pegnitz, an old industrial town with the remarkable Conradty workers' settlement from 1899 with an accompanying museum. From here it goes via Wetzendorf back to the starting point of the tour. In Lauf an der Pegnitz you can stop off at one of the many cozy restaurants in the town center at the end of the tour. Are you looking for a little something special - as a souvenir or to reward yourself - then take a detour to Heuchling northeast of Lauf. The small beekeeping shop "Bienenkörbchen" always has a few unusual gift ideas on display. Tip: the honey pralines with pear brandy.
