Waischenfeld is a small, cozy place in the northeast of the Franconian Switzerland, idyllically embedded in the valley of the Wiesent. Picturesque half-timbered houses, old mills, beautiful churches and above all the enthroned the medieval castle - a really beautiful backdrop for the start of this varied mountain bike tour, which brings you high and deep under the earth. On the approximately 28-kilometer tour, it is guaranteed not boring. As is typical for the Franconian Switzerland, it is constantly up and down, which gives you a great mix of challenging climbs and flowing descents. Right at the beginning, the new point is the highest point of the tour - including fantastic views. The Sophienhöhle towards the end of the round, on the other hand, marks the "low point": it is one of the most beautiful caves in Franconian Switzerland. If you take a break here, you can cool off in the cave and marvel at the impressive stalactite formations. Then you roll over the flowy Rabenstein Trail back to Wiesenttal and the starting point to Waischenfeld. The best way to get to Waischenfeld is by car. The easiest way to get around from Bayreuth is by public transport - from there, take bus number 396. Waischenfeld is well-suited for a longer stay, as the cozy village offers all kinds of accommodation.
