This approximately eight-kilometer section of the Eagle Walk is a good day-trip from Innsbruck. Even for less experienced hikers, this beautiful tour is feasible, because you need sure-footedness, but no alpine experience. From Innsbruck you can take a bus or tram to Igls, from where you take the gondola lift to the Patscherkofel mountain station. Once at the top, the hike starts directly on the Zirbenweg. The wide path leads you to the east without steep passages. Only slightly uphill it goes over to Boschebenhütte. From there you hike on to the Tulfeinalm, from where you can take the cable car to the valley to Tulfes. Via Igls you will get back to Innsbruck.
