This round about eleven kilometers long includes everything that makes a varied run. To warm up you run on a relaxed dirt road, at the turning point you enjoy the magnificent mountain panorama and the view of the lake Egglburger and back then it goes on the demanding ups and downs of a narrow trail. The route started at Kirchseeon station and can be easily reached by S-Bahn from Munich. A bit through the village, just over the main road and you are already in Ebersberger forest, the largest contiguous forest area in the Munich region. To warm up, you follow a well-developed forest path that is easy to handle and that helps you bring the leg muscles up to operating temperature. It leads you over a comfortable up and down directly to the Egglburger lake northwest of Ebersberg. The lake is located in a nature reserve and serves many rare birds as a breeding and rest stop - so it's worth it to take a short break, a bit to enjoy the idyll and incidentally the great view of the mountain panorama in the background. Then follows the second part of the run.Back the route leads you as far as possible over a wonderful trail, which leads curvy over varied terrain with roots or sometimes muddy places, if it has rained before. It keeps going up and down and never gets boring. Of course, this is not an alpine run, but this path is quite a challenge. The starting point of the run, the train station in Kirchseeon, is best reached by S-Bahn from Munich (line S6). As a variation, you could also run a round around Lake Egglburg and then on to Ebersberg. From there you can also start the return journey with the S6.
