The Perlacher Forst is a forest area in the south of Munich, just behind the Munich Zoo. Here are more than 13 square kilometers of green waiting for you, just outside the city. And the best thing about it: Through not only wide business and cycle paths, but also many paths and trails, which have nothing to do with gravel and asphalt. As a coronation, there's another hill with a great view on top: Trails lead up to the Perlacher Mugl from all directions - from above you can see the mountain peaks of the main Alpine ridge with a clear view.If you're feeling adventurous, you can explore the small trails on your own when you're out and about, branching off to the left and right of the route. If it does not bother you that there is a dead end, you can simply extend our route. Speaking of which: We are extending this run with a detour to the banks of the Isar. The well-known Isartrails are just too good for running to leave them on the left. If you walk back to the starting point of the route via the Isarwerk Canal Dam, there is still a bit of island feeling for free. The starting point of the race is easy to reach from Munich city center. There is plenty of parking around the zoo, where you can park your car. If you would prefer to come by metro, you should go to the station Thalkirchen (U3). From there it is a stone's throw to the Isar, which you simply follow to the Marienklausensteg, where the route begins.
