"Urban to Glacier" is the motto of the Stubai Ultratrail, a trail running event that is quite challenging at 65 kilometers and over 6,000 vertical meters. In order to pass this extreme race from Innsbruck up to the Stubai Glacier, you have to be damn fit and have a lot of time. That's why we changed a part of the track a bit and made a nearly 20-kilometer trail run, which mostly uses the track of the Stubai Ultra. Only in the opposite direction - "Glacier to Urban" is our reversed motto. In fact, you do not even start on the glacier, but in the tranquil Rosendorf Telfes, which you reach with the cozy Stubaitalbahn - before you start, you can look quite comfortable off the track and enjoy a bit of the views into the beautiful mountains. Then it starts. As soon as you leave the village, you turn off onto a natural hiking trail and feel the asphalt under your shoes again when you have almost reached your destination. The route is not difficult, but totally natural and framed by the beautiful landscape, which is characterized by the rivers Ruetz and Sill. Although the Brenner motorway runs more or less parallel to the running track, you often hear nothing but the sound of the water. To get to the start of the race, it's best to take the Stubaitalbahn, which takes just under an hour to get to Innsbruck central station. Of course, the route works the other way too - then you follow the original course of the Stubai ultratrail for the most part. The uphill share is accordingly higher. From Telfes you can then enjoy the return journey by train. You can find the timetable here: stubai.at/fileadmin/userdaten/tvb-stubai/dokumente/fahrplaene/2017-18/fahrplan-stubaitalbahn-2018.pdf
