This almost ten-kilometer circular walk takes you over one of the most beautiful alpine landscapes in Styria. From the parking lot at the end of the toll road, the starting point, bring you wide forest roads and romantic alpine walks on and over the plateau. Continue past the Schneealpenhaus and Windberg, the highest peak of the Schneealm at an altitude of 1,903 meters. From here you have a fantastic view over the massif, which is also called Schneealpe. After this promising dangling you wander across the plateau back to the parking lot.You can stop off at this hike in the Schneealpenhaus and in the Michelbauer hut. Both are open from May to October. On the route you will also pass beautiful resting places. The ride on the Schneealpestraße to the parking lot costs 7 euros tolls. The journey time from Neuberg an der Mürz is about 20 minutes. After the hike you should plan a stop in Neuburg. Look at the cathedral, also called "the cathedral in the village". Particularly impressive is the huge, Gothic wooden roof truss from the 15th century. You can read more about the city and the tours in the cathedral here: muerzeroberland.at.In Neuburger Kaiserhof is a great glass factory. From quartz sand, lime, potash and sodium carbonate noble glasses, vases and imaginative structures are made here. In the months of March to December, regular demonstrations of the glassblowers take place from Tuesday to Sunday. At kaiserhof-glas.at you can also sign up for a glassblowing course. If you are looking for even more deceleration, then you can recharge your batteries in the Forest of the Senses at the 23 stations and enjoy nature. Guided tours always take place on Saturdays from 2.30pm to 5pm. For the independent inspection you pay 3,50 Euro entrance. More about the forest you can find here: wald-der-sinne.com.
