Hiking Highlight (Segment)
adidas TERREX planned a run.
February 26, 2019
In the north of Berlin is the Tegeler Fließ, a small stream that could not be more idyllic and is not in vain protected. Its heathy landscape, moors and many small lakes make you feel like you're on vacation as soon as you get out of the city. By the way: This route is best reached by S-Bahn, which has a great connection to the center of Berlin from the start in Waidmannslust as well as from the finish in Mönchmühle - perfect to leave the car alone. From the S-Bahn station you start your run, which leads you through the idyllic nature of various protected areas. As soon as you have left a few streets behind you, enjoyment begins on the shores of Lake Hermsdorf. Although you do not expect any major technical challenges here, small paths alternate with field and hiking trails, so it does not get boring. And the beautiful, partly extraordinary landscape is a real highlight anyway.Through moist meadows and picturesque bogs you soon reach the Köppchensee, where a short detour to the viewing platform is worthwhile, from where you can admire the lake and the beautiful heathland all around. A little later, you can give your feet a little cooling by dangling them briefly in the water of the Arkenberge bathing lake. Then you reach already the route of the rapid-transit railway, with which it goes straight back into the city. But before that, a detour to Mönchmühle is worthwhile. From May to September, in the historic ambience of the mill café, you can enjoy homemade cakes and fresh coffee - the perfect ending to a pleasurable run that you certainly would not have expected in front of the big city's doors.
