The Briese is a small tributary of the Havel, which ripples in its headwaters shortly after its origin from the Lake Wandlitzer natural by wild romantic Briesetal. Enchanted bog forests, small lakes and wonderful peace - even if you do not expect any technical challenges here, this run off the beaten path is a wonderful and rewarding short break in nature. You start in Birkenwerder, a small community north of Berlin, directly behind the border with Brandenburg. After crossing the A10, your run starts through the beautiful nature of the Briesetal. Both banks of the river have small paths that you use for your run. This will provide some variety, although you will follow the river upstream, upstream on the way back down the river. Practical side effect: Whenever a bridge crosses the water, you have the opportunity to shorten the route or to hang around for another lap. The best comes at the end: Before you walk back to Birkenwerder, the path leads across a fabulous wooden walkway directly through the moor. From Berlin, Birkenwerder, the starting point of the race, is well connected. By car you are on the A111 and the A10 fast there, but also by train you can easily get to the S-Bahn station Birkenwerder.
