Running Highlight (Segment)
adidas TERREX planned a run.
February 26, 2019
In the east of Berlin is the Plänterwald in the district Treptow-Köpenick. Located directly on the Spree is this beautiful green area, which is ideal for running. The terrain is not demanding, but if you include the many small trails and you are looking for your own small obstacles, you still have a nice city trail, which is also easily accessible.Let's start at the S-Bahn station Baumschulenweg on the first part of the route, the round about ten kilometers long through the Plänterwald, which does not particularly demand you technically, but still has a lot to offer - especially for the eye. Slightly hidden when you stand in front of it, but even more impressive, is the Treptow Memorial, which was built by the Soviet troops in honor of the fallen soldiers of the Red Army. A piece of history in passing. The view is almost bizarre when you pass the old Spreepark. Here was once the only theme park in the GDR and even today you can look from the fence on the old ferris wheel, an old park railroad or a dilapidated concrete dinosaur. If you have ten kilometers, your run ends at the starting point, the S-Bahn station. On the other hand, if you still have some power, our route will take you along the Britzer connecting canal over to the Königsheide, where you can follow the beautiful paths and trails for another seven kilometers. So you can - in the middle of the city - assemble your optimal trail running experience.
