The Ruhr area is full of beautiful, exciting places, which remind again and again of the past of this region: Old winding towers, high heaps, huge industrial wastelands but also idyllic waters are relics from a time before the structural change in the pot. Just such a place in the north of Duisburg is the scene for this quiet round on relaxed trails. The route leads around the Baerler forest lake and over the heap Rheinpreussen. Loose trails, an idyllic water landscape, a beautiful climb and a great view - for a change is provided on this short round. You start right on the lake, where you can leave your car in a small parking lot. Now you will circle around the forest lake, where you can vary our round again and again: There are several paths that lead around the lake and various cross-connections. For example, in bad weather, you can switch from slippery clay soil to grippy sand or simply add a few meters in your run.If you reach the north side of the lake, you can already see where it goes straight up: Here you have a beautiful view of the heap Rheinpreussen, on whose "summit" a large miner's lamp, the so-called "jagged", enthroned as a landmark. Now you have to overcome some 80 meters in altitude to change your perspective and enjoy the beautiful view from the top. Then it's just downhill until you reach the starting point of your run again.
