Castles, mountains and beautiful views await you on this hike. You start in the tranquil village of Stetten in Remstal. After a detour to the Y-castle, the path leads you to the vantage point Kernerturm. Think of the ascent, what a terrific view you will expect above, then run the good 250 meters altitude much easier. Continue through the vineyards down to Rotenberg. The funerary chapel in the Stuttgart district is well worth a visit. Via the vantage point Katharinenlinde you walk down to Esslingen am Neckar. The viewpoints on this 15-kilometer route are ideal for breaks. Before the detour to Rotenburg you will pass a barbecue area. On the way to the Katharinenlinde is the Waldschenke "7 Linden" (Wednesday closed from 15 clock, Thursday day of rest). Many restaurants are located in the Esslinger old town. There are two detours on the track that you can skip. If you leave the ascent to the Y-Burg and the funerary chapel in Rotenberg, you shorten the hike by a good three kilometers. The bus X20 direction Waiblingen drives regularly from the central bus station in Esslingen to Stetten. It's best to leave the bus back in the morning, then you can hike back to Esslingen. From Stuttgart, you can easily take the S-Bahn or the regional train to Esslinger Bahnhof. There are many ways to park your car in the city.
