From the 21st century to the Baroque era and even further into the Middle Ages, you can experience all this on this 20 kilometer hike. The first highlight awaits you right at the beginning: the Residenzschloss Ludwigsburg, one of the largest baroque castles in Germany. Start early, so you have plenty of time to walk through the beautifully landscaped castle garden and visit the magnificent building. The path continues from Ludwigsburg towards Asperg. Even from a distance you can see the Hohenasperg. The ascent to the fortress is short and crisp, but the magnificent view rewards you. The tour will take you through Bietigheim-Bissingen to your destination Besigheim.In the villages you walk through, there are many ways to stop, rest and refill the water bottle. In Bietigheim-Bissingen you can rest on the banks of the Enz in the shade of the trees.From the train station in Besigheim every half hour the regional train back to Ludwigsburg. You can also plan the tour of the castle at the end of the hike.
