"Nature is an infinitely divided God", so the opinion of the poet Friedrich Schiller. A fitting quote for this hike: the 15-kilometer route starts in Schiller's birthplace Marbach and takes you along the Neckar River through the beautiful nature on the riverbank. The more than 360 kilometers long Neckar is a tributary of the Rhine and an important waterway through Baden-Württemberg. You can watch the shipping traffic during your hike and you might even see the lock in Poppenweiler in action. Then you let the Neckar continue to flow towards Stuttgart and wanderst in meadows and fields back to Marbach.The famous son of the city is omnipresent in Marbach. On 10 November 1759 he was born in Niklastorstraße 31. Today there is a museum in the house, which you can visit daily for 3 euros admission. There are more Schiller memorials scattered throughout the city. For his birthday, the city organizes a Schiller week with a wide cultural program. For example, S-Bahn trains run regularly from Stuttgart Main Station. Several parking spaces are available in the city, including the train station, the starting point of this tour.
