An oversized amphitheater with box seats for the view of the Neckarschleife. Sounds impressive - it is. On this round trip with start in Mundelsheim you walk right through the steep terraces, hear the wind rustling through the grapevines and will quickly understand why this region is also called the Swabian Tuscany. The path leads you to very special gardens and the picturesque Liebenstein Castle. Since you cover a few meters in altitude right from the beginning, you will be rewarded with beautiful views from start to finish on this tour. After almost 17 kilometers, the trail ends again in Mundelsheim. There is a restaurant in Liebenstein Castle. But on this tour it is worth packing your own food and stopping at one of the sunny viewpoints overlooking the Neckar. If you keep your eyes open, you'll see little cottages now and then in the vineyard terraces. These can be rented - or provide benches for tired hikers. If you're on the eve of vintage, you can snack on a few mature pigeons here and there. After the hike you will find several restaurants in Mundelsheim with good traditional cuisine. To the starting point in Mundelsheim you come by bus from the train station in the neighboring Besigheim. Take the line 459 towards Freiberg. In Besigheim you have a good train connection to Heilbronn and Stuttgart. By car you reach Mundelsheim on the A81, the exit is between Stuttgart and Heilbronn.
