This is a nice ride, mostly on bridleways but with a few short road sections.
We started in Beeston and went through Middleton Woods down to the Aire & Calder Navigation, but you could easily start this from pretty much anywhere in Leeds and get good access to the route.
For us, cycling out along the Navigation was a nice warm up before starting the gentle climb along The Lines Way.
Coming off The Lines Way to follow bridleways and roads to Temple Newsam, the initial couple of hills looked a little daunting (for somebody from Cheshire!), but they don't really amount to much.
All good rides need a cafe part way round and Temple Newsam meets that requirement well. Then we were off back down to the Navigation via Skelton Country Park. Ok, the views not great around here at the moment, while they are building the motorway services, but it's a good link back to the Navigation to head homeward.
