Impressive rock formations alternate with green meadows where sheep graze. A small climb, a nice descent and the next highlight is waiting for you. This section on the DonauTäler cycle path is beautiful and offers a lot of variety. It's packed with interesting stations, so you can plan a full day for less than 40 kilometers. You start in the idyllic Lonetal, where you will always come across impressive rock formations and numerous caves. The most famous is the Vogelherd Cave, which is part of the Vogelberg Archaeological Park - this is an interesting and entertaining break. You continue following the winding course of the Lone. The roads are quiet and excellent for cycling and the scenery is wonderful. In addition, only a few climbs await you - perfect conditions for enjoying the bike ride properly. If you see the ruins of the Kaltenburg, you leave the Lonetal behind you and instead follow the Brenz, another tributary of the Danube. It takes you to Giengen, home of Margarethe Steiff, the founder of the world-famous cuddly toy empire. A break in the Steiff Museum takes you into the exciting world of the teddy bear and his cuddly friends.Behind Giengen, you take a course on Wittislingen, where the end of this section is located. On the way you can expect great views of the beautiful landscape of Bavarian Swabia and relaxed moments, such as in the Kneippanlage Staufen, where you can treat your legs a break.
