The Danube does not only characterize the beautiful landscape that you cross on the Danube Valley Cycle Path. With it many small tributaries provide the beauty and idyll of this area. Along these rivers you cycle through remote villages with cozy houses and colorful cottage gardens. The leading actor in this section is the company that meanders playfully through the green valley and is the lifestream for both animals and humans. You can see that throughout the tour as you cross the bridge over one of its bridges, follow the winding path along the winding path, or linger at one of the countless mills lining the river like a string of pearls. This section starts on the banks of the Danube, which you soon leave to reach the compound a few kilometers further. The small town of Wertingen is ideal for a first break in the beautiful ambience of the historic center, where you can extend your stay by visiting the Ofen- or beer museum or stopping at the Gasthaus der Schwanenbrauerei. Strengthened, you're ready to follow suit. If you keep your eyes open you will see one of the many water mills again and again. It was over 40 once. Most still exist today, although many are no longer in operation. At Zusamzell the bike path leaves the river for a short detour into a hilly forest area. In Glöttweng you can fortify yourself for the rest of the tour, before you meet again in Ziemetshausen on the Zusam, where you can admire a particularly beautiful mill specimen.
