The first leg of the Stromberg-Murrtal-Radweg is a comfortable 14 kilometers long. So you have enough time for a discovery tour through the fan city Karlsruhe before the start of the tour. Zoologischer Stadtgarten, castle, castle garden, old town - there is much to marvel at here. Then you cycle from the main station on the tracks along out of the city. After a short time you reach the district Durlach. Prior to the founding of Karlsruhe in 1718, Durlach was the residence of the Margraves of Baden. In 1938, the initially independent city was incorporated into Karlsruhe. From the residence time still comes the impressive old town with the magnificent buildings.Along the banks of the Pfinz you continue cycling. On quiet roads and well-developed bike paths, it goes along the river through Grötzingen, Berghausen and finally to Pfinztal. Here in the district Söllingen lures the small local museum in the community center. From Söllingen station, you can easily take the S-Bahn line 5 back to Karlsruhe. The timetable can be found at vpe.de/fahrplan/linienfahrplaene/bahnlinien.
