The fourth stage of the Werratal Cycle Path welcomes you again on the first kilometers with beautiful meadows that lead you through the flat Werratal. A short detour brings you to the Krayenberg, where you can enjoy romantic forest and especially a breathtaking view over the wide landscape. A rapid descent brings you back to the Werra, which you now again comfortably through their green valley. In Philippsthal you can take a first break and stroll through the castle park. Both here and in Heringen (Werra) a few kilometers away, large, white mountains of salt rise up. These are waste dumps of potash mining. From the bike path you have always an impressive view of the Kaliberg at Heringen. Through wide fields and meadows, along the Böller forest and always near the Werra you finally cycle to the stage destination Herleshausen. From here you can take the train to the Lutherstadt Eisenach at the end of the day.

Hello Lutz, your route inspired us and we drove from Phillipstal to Eisenach on Saturday. Except for a few small detours, we followed your route. Thanks for the tip. Nice that there is Komoot and that the users put their tours online so that other users can follow them.
