From Eisfeld, the Werratal Cycle Path leads you to the beginning of the river a little over some of the romantic wooded hills. From Hildburghausen, where you can take a well-deserved break in the beautiful old town, the route is a bit flatter. You cycle through wide meadows that line the playful Werra. In some places, however, the river meanders through a narrow valley. Here the bike path leads you through idyllic forests on the bank slopes and then back to the Werratal. So you cycle through the beautiful Thuringia, past cozy little places and cultural highlights like the monastery Veßra over to the finish line Meiningen. In Meiningen you can visit Castle Elisabethenburg or stroll through the English Garden and end the day with a good Thuringian meal. How about, for example, with Thuringian dumplings? They were once thought to have been invented in Meiningen.
