My third tour from the parking lot of the H2O, which like the other two was under the motto "Walk & Splash". First hike and then splash around and take a sauna. The basis of the tour is the family path of the municipality of Bad Waltersdorf, advertised as W9. This is actually 3.8 km long and is also part of this route. If you like, you can shorten it and simply leave out the Bernese along the railroad tracks. But I was also after the summit and the view. So the Bernese had to do it.The route initially leads away from the H2O parking lot, past the Piwetzmühle to the level crossing. Here we keep to the right, walk along the bike path, over the curved bridge path, to the next crossing. If you like, you can go straight ahead and turn right at the next level crossing. This is the original W9 family route. But if you like the Bernese go over the tracks and then left to the main road. Now comes the steepest part of the way. Here we go uphill on the left side of the road. Note: no hiking trail. Only the edge of the road. Here the route is really attractive, good for the muscles :) But if you want a summit and a view - you have to suffer. This way of thinking helps me to motivate me;) So keep going up the street, over the top of the hill at the highest point, until a sign on the right edge of the lane announces "Berner".Here you go up, the gravel road all the way to the top. Pass through the open gate and you are standing in the middle of the Berner above. Magnificent view. Benches to rest. And even a couple of sheep. Please move carefully up here and don't frighten the sheep.Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed on my tour. If you want to enjoy culinary delights up here: Here is the Berner website: amberner.atAfter an extensive photo session and enjoying the view, we go back the same way down to the street. Turn right at the road, and after a few meters turn right again, take the Römerweg into the forest. This is well signposted through the forest.Always following the forest path or the signs you will reach the exit at the retention basin about 15 minutes later. This does not seem to have served its purpose for a long time. A lock with a jetty, reminiscent of "Lost Places", stands here as a silent witness. And of course I had to go up there. Tip: Walk slowly and don't wiggle around a lot. Old construct! The sign "Enter at your own risk. Danger of falling" ... can only be seen afterwards - the sign can only be seen from the street side ... I survived. The route continues into the town of Bad Waltersdorf. Along the alley of a beautiful settlement, past a Marterl and a rest stop, to the crossing bike path. Left here and right again at the intersection. When we arrive at the level crossing, we return to the original route of the family route. Here we continue towards the church through a well-tended alley. Over the flower-decked bridge over it, we cross the main street and immediately go back in the alley on the other side of the street.Past the church, the war memorial, the pastry shop and the frog fountain, the route leads back to the right - follow the signs - towards Sebersdorf or H2O.Now bring the last kilometer behind you, swinging through corn fields, along the A2 motorway, past the underpass and we are back at the starting point. And me? I now went to splash around and have a sauna :) Have fun afterwards and or thermal baths :)
