The station Spandau is the last stop of the S-Bahn lines S3 and S9. From here you can hike along the Havel towards the south, until you reach the northernmost foothills of Grunewald. On our short tour you also cross the nature reserve Tiefwerder Wiesen and enjoy the view of the Havel from the peninsula Pichelswerder.Every 10 minutes, the S-Bahn lines S3 and S9 take you to the Spandau train station. From here you follow the road Stabholzgarten past the impressive town hall Spandau and a little later you are standing on the Havel shore. Directly above you is a wide railway bridge over the river, which is used by both S-Bahn trains and long-distance trains. You cross under the railway bridge and stroll south along the waterfront. As you walk along the shore, you enjoy the view of the river and the passing boats and ships. Although the path leads past residential buildings, it is still pleasantly quiet here. At the Schulenburg bridge you cross the Havel. You follow the road for a short distance until our route leads you further south towards Tiefwerder Wiesen.First, it goes through a quiet residential area, but soon after our tour takes you on trails and boardwalks over the wetlands of Tiefwerder meadows. Here you can also observe numerous birds. After you have briefly crossed the army road, you can expect comfortable forest roads on the peninsula Pichelswerder. You hike here to the southernmost point, where you can expect a magnificent view of the Havel and the Grunewald. From Pichelswerder it goes on to the S-Bahn station Pichelsberg. Here you take the S-Bahn line S3 or S9 and start your return journey.
