With the S5 line it is especially worthwhile driving east to the last stop Strausberg Nord. From here you can roam the vast forests around the picturesque Straussee. Our tour will take you almost completely around the lake - but if that's too long for you then you can shorten it and take the ferry across the lake halfway through the route.Every 20 minutes, the S5 line will take you to your starting point, Strausberg Nord station. You leave the station and walk along the Wilkendorfer Weg until you reach the Roter Hof Children's Farm. It is located directly on the shore of the small peat pond. Along the shore you continue hiking and after a short section of forest you stand by the impressive Straussee. On the tree-lined shore, you continue to hike south. From the path you have a magnificent view over the lake and on the opposite Strausberg. After four and a half kilometers, you will be standing at the F39 ferry, which will take you directly from there to Strausberg. If you like, you can abbreviate here.Otherwise, our hike will continue along the lakeshore. You circle the lake at its narrow southern tip and then stroll north along the waterfront. After passing the historic lido, follow the route to the right until the Strausberg Stadt train station. With the line S5 it goes back to Berlin.
