The town of Bernau with its historic old town is the last stop of the S2 line. From here, our hike leads you through the old town and then over fields and small forest to the nature reserve Schönower Heide. On the renaturated and fenced training area live today many deer and mouflon without human influence. Through their pasture behavior here the special landscape can be obtained naturally.Every 20 minutes, the S-Bahn line S2 will take you to Erkner station. Here you can make a tour through the city park, which once draws around the medieval city wall. If you like, you can of course also stroll through the old town. From Mühlentor, the northern city gate, you first follow Mühlenstraße. After crossing the highway, you leave the road and walk along fields and finally into a sparse forest. The forest path leads you directly to the nature reserve Schönower Heide. On a signposted trail, you can once wander around the fenced wilderness area. There are numerous information signs and viewpoints along the way. After your round around the Schönower Heide you follow our tour to the S-Bahn station Zepernick. From here, the S2 line will take you back to Berlin.
